1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored in the User's browser. They allow us to remember preferences, login sessions, shopping carts and measure marketing performance.

2. Cookie categories on Skillup.gg

Essential (always on)

Required for the Service to function — they cannot be disabled under GDPR/ePrivacy.

better-auth.session_token — logged-in User session (HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, 7-day lifetime).
skillup_cart_guest — guest cart (30 days).
skillup_consent — record of your cookie choices (12 months).

Analytics (optional, require consent)

Help us understand traffic on the Service. These scripts do not load until you grant consent.

Marketing (optional, require consent)

Used for remarketing and measuring campaign effectiveness.

3. Third-party cookies

Stripe: __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid — fraud protection during payment (category: essential, as part of checkout).
VdoCipher: video player session cookies, loaded only when entering a lesson page.
Cloudflare: __cf_bm, cf_clearance — DDoS/bot protection (category: essential).

4. Consent management

You can change the choices made on your first visit at any time by clicking the "Manage cookies" link in the footer. Every consent change is logged (ConsentEvent model) for compliance with GDPR Art. 7(1).
